I had a recent gathering with all my close friends from school. It was such a pleasure to meet up again!

My 3 dearest girlfriends from school. We did everything together, attend lectures together and chit chat at the back when it got too boring :p discuss cute boys and girls.

We'd have endless things to talk about over lunch time and lecture breaks. We'd even turn up on the same day wearing similar outfits or colours. ( which was purely coincidental! we're not cheesy.)

We'd go to the toilet together ( we're not cheesy). Bascially, we were a tight clique. Even when we split up due to different course modules that each of us took, we'd still find time to gather.

Now that all of us have graduated, everyone leads different lives. We were all formerly from the food science and nutrition course. Everyone has ventured into varied pathways. One is in the hospitality industry, one in airlines industry and one in health industry.

Where does that place me, i wonder.

My Tokyo visit

I am so lazy to blog about my trip like how Azriha does it. But i was so inspired to blog about my food there though. hahah.

This is where they make the taco pachi balls and compared to those in singapore.. the ones in tokyo are mad huge! Like larger than the size of a billard ball. Those in singapore are the sizes of ping pong balls.

Yea? Check that out! It contains cheese and mushrooms, lettuce, prawns and meat.. ahhh everything to make a pecrfect meal. For people on diet!

Okay this is kinda rnadom, its my ticket cost from the Narita airport to my hotel in Shinagawa Prince. And it costs a flipping 3000 YEN! Very costly.

See, you must be wondering why the heck do I go to tokyo and not eat their super fresh sashimi? Well, the people I was with wanted to eat steak instead.. and this simple meal cost me SG$30.

This was another lovely meal at a vietnamese restaurant in tokyo. I know right, why the heck u eat expensive vietnamese food in tokyo.. well lets just say i am very obliging  :)

Its some rice and egg cracked over it. then u gotta mix all the ingredients on the hot plate. the minced meat is spicy and well seasoned. Onions make a good complement to most dishes! I think i am just biased cause i love raw onions!

Here's yours truely, along the streets of Harajuku.

IMG_7168

I am fond of spring onions.

IMG_7169

This ramen was FANTASTIC. The meat, so tender so juicy. The soup, u can almost taste the thick brewed collegen from the pork bones. I love it! Added lots of chilli falkes to spruce it up! I want more meat in my Ramen!

So ya know , in japan everything's gotta be so hygenic. That includes NOT TOUCHING YOUR MONEY AND THEN MAKING FOOD. They have this machine, u gotta exchange cash for food coupons and pass the coupons to the chef.

Update on my trip!

I accidentally booked a hostel twice online. SO THEY CHARGED ME TWICE!

Not my fault! Their webpage stopped loading halfway so i keyed my credit card again.

And it doesn't seem like i'm going to get my refund of my EURO back. Omg yea i know the euro is now depreciating, but its still about 2 times my currency >:(

On another note! I saved at least $300 on accomodation! Found 3 lovely ladies to stay with! Samantha from Bern, Veronika from Vienna and Tara from Berlin. Exciting!!

a tea-party!

I was planning to throw an afternoon tea-party and invited some people! It took me a week to send out invites, book a location, plan my menu and cook-out everything!

Such satisfaction to see it coming together nicely! :)

I baked this 3 clover bread. For good luck! Hahaha. I planned for this to go with the curry chicken. And yea, someone told me that good luck clovers have 4 leaves. GREAT! So my version has 1 missing leaf. Hope that's still lucky :p

My mum helped with the curry and bee hoon.

A friend brought the otah!

I made this simple dessert!

And lemonade and lemon cubes!! omg see, good use of resources! I love my lemon cubes!! My finger got sliced when i was grating the lemon zest. Such sacrifice u know! Added some heart shaped sprinklies on top. Prettier!

This is required 8 apples :) Healthy!

This is the little spread for food for less than 15 people. A generally healthy spread of food!

Some of the guests!

I am the photographer, the cook, the coordinator. So tiring! But worth the effort, everyone left happy! U don't need alcohol to get a party going :)

Trina's 21st surprise!

After work, Isha and I made our way to Scarlet Boutique Hotel. Our beloved Trin's boyfriend planned a surprise for her! Really sweet of him going to such extends.

The decor is so nice! Just had to take a photo with the rosey couch :)

Thats right, we hid in this toilet while waiting for the birthday girl to arrive.

Some of the other surprise party guests. Not a big group. Just 2 of us girls and the bf's friends.

He actually bought 21 presents for her 21st birthday! hahah , u don't need 21 friends to get 21 presents. Just one really generous boyfriend will do ;)

Here's the stunning couple!! Have safe flights you both!!

Our parting shot. Had to work the next day.. had to leave earlier. boohoo.
